Today is Braedon's Baptism.

Our Braedon is being baptised today. I am so proud of my son and his genuine goodness. He is an amazing brother, and son. Ethan watches everything that Braedon does, and usually takes his charge from Braedon, so whether Braedon fully knows it or not today, he is setting a marvelous example for his brother Ethan, who I fully believe will want to be just like his brother. Braedon is often quiet with those around him and you have to know him well, and be in the right moment with him to have him open up to you. He is a thinker, and has a very tender heart, and a little stubborness to him. But above all, he is GOOD. And I have seen him time and time again wiegh out choices, and make the right ones. I have seen him learn to love the scriptures as they have been read to him by his mom and dad. In fact, he has finished the Book of Moromon before he was 8 which is something his dad did not manage until he was 19. I am so grateful to be his dad and to see him grow and do what is right and pray he will always stay on that path. His mother and I love him more than he knows, and are very proud of him today and with his choice to follow the Lord's example and be baptized.

Ethan In Charge

Ethan has finally begun playing Soccer. His team is the Silver
Bullets and HE LOVES IT! Ethan has been playing for the last couple of
years in the backyard with Braedon. But of course Braedon is older
bigger an more competitive and never let's Ethan win. Most of the
time Etham is okay with this as he is happy (and naturally gracious to
take second seat to his Big Bro) Other times... not so much. Anyway,
Ethan is the STAR of his team! He scored 2 goals in his first game
and 5 of the 7 in his next! He is fearless on the field and we LOVE
watching him play his little heart out. He will score a goal with mom
and dad screaming from the sidelines and pump his little fists in the
Air! I love watching him play... had no idea how much I would love
that! Braedon of course is a great little player as well, but it is
so good to see Ethan Out there tearing it up! Go Ethan!!! Whoot
Whoot! I am so Proud of him, and so happy he has the spotlight all to
himself. Love that boy! - Love Dad

B n E Trying New Stuff!

I Love My Boys.... I don't know that it gets any better than watching B n E Try New Stuff! This past week Braedon learned to ride his first bike. Both boys learned to swing their golf clubs... and they learned that ducks can't bite, cause they don't have teeth. Its unbelievable how much I love those little guys. So fun watching them experience life!

FORE... So the best part of this experience was Dad giving "tips" to Braedon: "Keep your feet apart", "Keep your eye on the ball", "Follow thru with your swing".... Finally, Braedon says, "I've got a tip for you Dad..... Stop talking!" I guess no one likes their back swing interrupted. ;)

Swine Flu and You

So I recently traveled back from 3 days of fishing in Mexico on Lake El Novillo. The fishing was GOOD! We drove in on a Friday, stayed in a little town called San Pedro de la Cueva, and basically spent all day on the lake. (Up at 4am and off the lake by 5pm). The town is in the middle of NOWHERE... in the middle of the Sonora Desert, and outside of the handful of guys I drove down with from Phoenix, I had very little contact with the locals. San Pedro is an amazing little town that hasn't changed in over 100 years. There is a monument erected in the town square where Poncho Villa rode into town in the early 1900s and gunned down the girl who turned him down along with 60 or so members of her family. Anyway.... back to the main story.... although the town is in the middle of nowhwere, the cassita I stayed in did have satellite TV and I learned about the Swine Flu on CNN and the possibility of a pandemic. It didn't worry me too much until I realized that I was flying home to the US out of Hermosillo (closet city with an airport), and that I would be flying home on AeroMexico. When I arrived at the airport, I was with my brother in law and we quickly realized we were the only ones there without blue masks on. We asked the personnel at the counter when we were checking in where the flight had originated from and were told... Mexico City! Suddenly we were concerned and I think either one of us would have shelled out whatever they were asking for those little blue masks. Problem was that people had brought them with them... .and they weren't to be found at the Airport. As we boarded the airplane, everyone seemed to have them on...except us. Someone once told me that you are protected by the herd and so for now, that is what Josh and I are banking on. We have now been home for 2 days, and are symptom free. I did find the following article below, which did make me feel a little better about not having a mask, as apparently, they don't do any good. I will let you know how I am in a week.

Jedi Warriors and Sith Lords

My boys LOVE Star Wars.... I wasn't sure if it would catch on or not when Santa brought them the Star Wars Legos Game for the Wii this past Christmas. Well, they not only loved the game, but they became obsessed with all of the DVDs. We started them on Star Wars Episodes 4,5, and 6 which were of course my favorites growing up in the 80s... I mean I can still remember going downtown to the Manns Chinese Theater in 1977 at the age of 7 to see Star Wars with my mom and dad. What blew me away though was how much more they loved episodes 1, 2, and 3 which came out years later. I think they have now watched all 6 episodes... and the animated series " The Clone Wars" a dozen times. It has been fun to share it with them and re-live my a bit of my childhood thru my boys. We recently went to Disneyland in March....and they were able to attend the Jedi Training Academy in Futureland. Braedon was even called up on stage... taught by Obi Wan Kenobi himself... and got to fight Darth Maul, who also is B-Man's favorite character. Funny, but some how my boys like the dark side characters more than the heros. I think it has something to do with the cooler light sabers. Speaking of which... both boys now have full light saber collections in every color and attack Darth Dad when ever they can.... Here is a clip:

Many of you may know... I had the opportunity to see U2 perform live on David Letterman this past March (thanks Chip). That in and of itself was just plain lucky and was an amazing show! What you may not know is that U2 was also slated to perform a Live Concert for Good Morning America that same weekend. I was psyched and had gotten a guilt-free pass from my wife to go enjoy a weekend in NYC with like-obsessed U2 friends. Everything was going great... and then WHAM... I find out that U2 will be playing their concert for GMA in a private venue... Fordham University. The gig is to be locked down for students and staff only. Well... what was I to do! It was an amazing show.

If you are considering attending any of the U2 360 Concerts, I highly recommend signing up for U2.com as a paid subscribed member. Pre-Sale for the October concerts in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and LA begin this Tuesday. The cost is $50, however.... that is far less than you will pay for scalper tickets once the tickets go on sale to the general public. In fact, my 2 cents are that if you do not get your tickets thru the pre-sale... you will have a hard time obtaining ANY tickets for those shows. Marty.... Master of the Universe

Sometimes when I look back and remember my brother Marty... I see him, in mind playing, with He-Man, Master of the Universe. Now.... He is all grown up, and manages one of the largest Cell Tower Networks in the Bay Area. It wasn't until today..... when I read about 1/2 the bay area going down due to a fiber cut, that severed transmissions, that I realized that Marty is the protector and guardian of all those cell phone conversations that were so abruptly stopped yesterday by some communications terrorist (well call him Skeletor).

Marty worked tirelessly and effortlessly yesterday in a small cube somewhere (secret layer unknow) re-establishing the critical lines of communications to all the people of the Bay Area... it's as if he held aloft his magic sword and said, "By the Power of Grey Skull.... I HAVE THE POWER". If only the people of the Bay Area realized the He-Man behind the scenes that put their 911 calls back in service. Marty has truly become the Master of the Universe.... The communications universe that is. He is the switch man... and by the flick of a key-stroke... determines if that 1am booty call will go thru... or if you'll get a busy signal!

St. Patricks Day - At the McTalls

What a great day yesterday was. Jen had planned a St. Patricks Day Family Dinner with the Reeses and we had everyone there (minus Josh who is travelling). Everything was green. Green salad with green ranch dressing, green dinner rolls, green jello, green punch, even green sweet and sour sauce for the chicken. The kids LOVED it. All the cousins played tag in our back yard and we all had a great visit. John and Gayle were able to be there this week in a very welcomed break from their 30 below weather in Bismarck, ND. The weather was perfect and I believe it is making us all more anxious for warmer spring weather. Everyone had a great time. Jen... you are amazing!
